Classically trained countertenor JJ of Austria wins 69th Eurovision Song Contest with his pop-opera song “Wasted Love.”.

The Grand Final was overshadowed by a failed stage invasion during a performance by Israeli singer and entrant Yuval Raphael, who came second in the competition in Basel, Switzerland.

Austria’s entrant, JJ, took the prize after a tense count that was neck-and-neck until the last votes were revealed.
