Some 23 people are still missing and 24 confirmed dead after almost a week of wildfires in Los Angeles, officials say.

A suspect with a blowtorch arrested by police officers near the Kenneth wildfire is reportedly an illegal immigrant from Mexico.

Critical fire weather is expected to continue until Wednesday at the earliest, increasing the risk that fires will spread further.
