In 2022, Lamar was a supporting performer during the Super Bowl 56 halftime show. The “legends of hip hop” lineup also featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak. However, three years later, Lamar will headline the show with SZA.

The Super Bowl halftime show debuted in 1967, featuring marching bands from the University of Arizona and Grambling College (now, Grambling State University) performing "The Sound of Music" and "When the Saints Go Marching In.

Drake’s second diss track used artificial intelligence technology to include verses from Tupac and Snoop Dogg, two of Lamar’s influences. In his own verse, Drake accuses Lamar of delaying his response track because of the imminent release of Taylor Swift ‘s “The Tortured Poets Department.” (Lamar collaborated with Swift on “Bad Blood.”)
