A domestic violence suspect barricaded in an apartment complex in the south Natomas area was found dead when authorities were able to get inside, Sacramento police said late Friday morning.

A domestic violence suspect was engaged in a standoff with law enforcement officials in the south Natomas area, Sacramento police said Thursday night.

Police officers are still working to get a domestic violence suspect out of a barricaded apartment in Natomas. Both SWAT and hostage negotiation teams are on the scene. Police spokesperson Officer Anthony Gamble said the department has called in officers from all over the area to help with the situation.
