Starting right guard Kevin Zeitler has been ruled out for Saturday night’s divisional-round showdown against the Washington Commanders. Zeitler suffered a hamstring injury in the Week 18 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The veteran lineman did not practice this week, sticking to treatment and rest.

Mahogany, a 2024 sixth-round pick out of Boston College, has started one game and played in seven this year. He started in Week 16 against the Bears and impressed. Detroit also has veteran Kayode Awosika at its disposal as insurance if Zeitler is unable to go.

Also missing from practice were cornerback Ennis Rakestraw (hamstring/illness) and defensive lineman Pat O’Connor (calf). Rakestraw had his 21-day return window last week, so missing back-to-back practices isn’t the best sign.
