Cases of suspected bird flu have impacted dozens of animals over the last two weeks and turned a Plymouth pond into a graveyard.

Bird flu is the suspected culprit after more than 60 geese, swans and ducks were found sick or dead in a Plymouth pond called Billington Sea.

A goose found dead at Billington Sea is being treated as a case of bird flu, the town of Plymouth, Massachusetts, confirmed Sunday.

Evidence suggests that bird flu is widespread in Massachusetts and “likely present even in places where there has not been a confirmed positive,” state officials announced Wednesday.

In most places in Massachusetts, it's the resident's responsibility to remove any dead animals on their property, but in this case, the dead geese are coming from the pond and washing ashore.
