A police tactical team is now at the complex in the 2700 block of Orchard Lane in the Willowcreek neighborhood with crisis negotiators called in to contact the suspect barricaded inside one of the residences, Sacramento police said just after 6 a.m.

A man is believed to have killed himself after a standoff with Sacramento Police Department officers that lasted for more than 12 hours at an apartment complex. Officers were along Orchard Lane near West El Camino Avenue in the Willow Creek neighborhood.

Large swastikas were found spray painted onto a Sacramento school on Monday, prompting a police investigation. Natomas Unified School District officials, in a letter sent to families on Tuesday, acknowledged the discovery of the graffiti.
