Federal agents launched targeted arrest operations while a wave of military troops deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border

Hours after being sworn in, President Trump fulfilled his campaign promises to crackdown on illegal immigration. The President declared an emergency at the southern border, and as a result, there have already been many changes to policy.

More is coming, but many directives will take time to be implemented or will face political, legal or practical obstacles.

While The New York Times and Ipsos poll showed that 55 percent of voters supported Donald Trump's proposed immigration policies, there are a number of 'sanctuary' states, cities and counties that are
